Terms of Service

Last updated: 23 July 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Game Caddie mobile application and any associated services (together, the "Service"). The Service is provided by the individual developer trading as Game Caddie, based in the United Kingdom ("Game Caddie", "we", "us", or "our").

By creating an account or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this requirement and, if you are under 18, that a parent or guardian has agreed to these Terms on your behalf where required by law.

2. What Game Caddie Is

Game Caddie is a mobile app for tracking golf rounds and playing social golf games with other people, made fair using each player's handicap and each course's stroke index. Supported formats currently include Casual, Stroke Play, Stableford, Skins, Match Play, Nassau, Nines, Quota, Wolf, Bingo Bango Bongo, and Scramble rounds. The Service also includes friends, live per-hole scoring during a round, an XP/level system, lifetime head-to-head records against people you've played with, and a small badge catalogue.

The Service is online-only: it requires an active internet connection to score and sync a round, and does not currently buffer or replay scores entered while offline.

No betting or wagering. Game Caddie has no betting, wagering, or staking functionality of any kind, notional or otherwise. Competitive formats are scored in points or holes only. Game Caddie does not process, hold, transmit, or settle money, and is not a party to any arrangement players may make between themselves outside the app.

Course and scoring data may be incomplete or inaccurate. Course listings, par, yardage, and stroke-index data are compiled from public and third-party sources and are not independently verified against the physical course in all cases. Where a course's scorecard is marked complete, this reflects that the data is structurally present (18 holes, par, and a stroke index for each), not that it has been checked for real-world accuracy. Do not rely on the Service for official handicap purposes, tournament scoring, or any purpose requiring certified accuracy.

3. Your Account

  • You may sign in using Google, Apple, or an email address, via our authentication provider.
  • You must choose a unique username before friends, invites, or head-to-head features become available.
  • The Service supports one active session per account. Signing in on a new device will automatically sign you out of any other device currently signed in to the same account.
  • You're responsible for the activity that happens under your account, and for keeping your sign-in credentials secure.
  • You may permanently delete your account at any time from within the app. This immediately and permanently deletes your profile, your uploaded photo, your friendships, your XP and badge history, and your head-to-head records. If you have hosted any rounds, deleting your account also permanently deletes those rounds, including the scores of every other player who took part in them. Rounds you only joined (didn't host) are preserved, with your entry anonymized. Deletion cannot be undone.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • impersonate another person, or misuse another player's name, likeness, or account;
  • upload a profile photo, or choose a username or display name, that is unlawful, harassing, hateful, obscene, or infringes someone else's rights;
  • attempt to access another user's account or data without authorization;
  • interfere with, overload, or attempt to circumvent the technical operation of the Service;
  • use the Service for any purpose prohibited by applicable law.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to the Service, and to remove content, for any account that violates these Terms.

5. Your Content

You retain ownership of the profile photo, username, and any other content you submit to the Service ("Your Content"). By submitting Your Content, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, and display it solely as necessary to operate and provide the Service to you and the other players in your rounds (for example, showing your photo and username to people you've played with or invited).

You're solely responsible for Your Content. We do not review or moderate profile photos, usernames, or display names before they're visible to other users, and we make no representation about the accuracy or appropriateness of any user's content.

6. Course Data and Third-Party Attribution

Some course boundary and geometry data displayed in the Service is sourced from OpenStreetMap and its contributors and is used under the Open Database License (ODbL); this is attributed in-app wherever that data is shown. Other course details (tee, yardage, par, course rating, and slope) are sourced from third-party golf-course data providers. This data is provided "as is" by those sources; we do not guarantee its completeness, accuracy, or that our use of it complies with every term of the source's own license in every case — see Section 10.

7. Third-Party Services

Operating the Service relies on third-party providers, including but not limited to: an authentication provider (for sign-in and session management), a database host, a background-job processor, an error-monitoring/crash-reporting provider, an image hosting/CDN provider, our app-hosting and push-notification infrastructure provider, and the Apple App Store / Google Play Store through which the app is distributed. Your use of features backed by these providers (for example, signing in with Google or Apple, or receiving push notifications) is also subject to that provider's own terms and privacy practices. Our error-monitoring provider may receive technical and usage data, including your IP address, to help us diagnose crashes and bugs — see our Privacy Policy for details.

8. Location and Push Notifications

If you grant permission, the app uses your device's approximate or precise location solely to order nearby golf courses higher in the course picker. Location is used for that single request and is not stored against your account. If you enable notifications, we use them to alert you to things like round invites. You can withdraw either permission at any time through your device settings.

9. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its software, design, and branding, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. Except for Your Content and any third-party-licensed data described in Section 6, nothing in these Terms grants you any right to use our trademarks, branding, or software outside of your permitted use of the Service.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION ANY WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE. WE DO NOT WARRANT THE ACCURACY OR COMPLETENESS OF ANY COURSE, SCORING, OR HANDICAP DATA.

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, GAME CADDIE AND ITS OPERATORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, INCLUDING ANY DISPUTE, BET, OR NOTIONAL STAKE BETWEEN PLAYERS. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED £100.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your violation of these Terms, Your Content, or your use of the Service.

13. Suspension and Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you violate these Terms or if we reasonably believe doing so is necessary to protect the Service or other users. You may stop using the Service, and delete your account, at any time as described in Section 3.

14. Future Paid Features

The Service is currently free to use. If we introduce paid features, subscriptions, or in-app purchases in the future, we will update these Terms (and provide separate pricing and refund terms) before those features become chargeable.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll notify you through the app or by other reasonable means before the changes take effect. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

16. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or the Service is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
